KOLKATA, Jan. 14: More than 200 criminal cases related to Nandigram violence are pending before different Benches of Calcutta High Court. The supporters of warring factions in Nandigram have lodged FIRs containing allegations of murder, arsons and looting each other during the resistance against land acquisition.
The Division Bench of Mr Justice DP Sengupta and Mr Justice PK Deb today rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of 20 residents of Khejuri in Nandigram. The 20 applicants include Mr Abu Taher, Sheikh Samad Sheikh Suphan and Mr Swadesh Adhikary, who had moved the Court seeking anticipatory bail in connection with the murder of Dilip Mondal.
